How to Install an eSIM on Samsung & Android Phones (Step by Step)

Installing a travel eSIM on Android takes about five minutes. The exact menu names differ slightly by brand, but the flow is the same everywhere: add the eSIM, enable the line, turn on data roaming for that line.
Before You Start - Make sure your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Supported examples: Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and most recent flagships. - Connect to stable Wi-Fi. Install the eSIM before your trip; validity only starts when you first connect abroad. - Have your Penyu QR code ready (in your account and email right after purchase).
Samsung Galaxy 1. Settings → Connections → SIM manager. 2. Tap "Add eSIM" → "Scan QR code" and scan your Penyu QR code. 3. When the plan appears, confirm to add it. Keep it OFF until you land if you prefer. 4. On arrival: SIM manager → enable the Penyu eSIM → set it as "Mobile data". 5. Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → enable "Data roaming" for the eSIM line.
Google Pixel and Other Android 1. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (or "Mobile network"). 2. Tap "Add SIM" → "Download a SIM instead?" → scan the QR code. 3. After installation, select the eSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming for it.
Important: Data Roaming Is Normal Turning on "data roaming" for a travel eSIM does not create roaming charges. The eSIM operates on local partner networks; the toggle simply allows the connection. Your Penyu plan price is all you pay.
Troubleshooting - No signal? Toggle airplane mode on/off, or restart the phone. - No internet? Verify the eSIM line is selected for mobile data and roaming is enabled for it. - QR not scanning? Enter the activation code manually - the option appears below the scanner.
That's it - your Android is travel-ready. When the trip ends, simply disable or delete the eSIM line; your physical SIM is untouched the whole time.
