Which eSIM plan should I choose?

Country or region, how many days, how many GB, is unlimited worth it? A short decision guide so you get it right the first time.

Three things define an eSIM plan: where it works, how long it lasts, and how much data it includes. Let us take them in order.

1. Where it works: country or region plan?

Travelling to one country? The single-country plan is almost always the cheapest option.
Hopping between countries (a Europe trip, for instance)? A regional plan is both cheaper and simpler than buying one plan per border.
A layover does not count as a destination - airport Wi-Fi is usually enough, so you do not need a plan for the country you connect through.

2. How many days?

Buy slightly more than your trip length. Delayed flights, a long final day at the airport and time-zone shifts move the end date more often than people expect. On a nine-day trip, a ten-day plan beats being offline on day nine.

3. How many GB?

This is where most people guess wrong. Nobody knows their own GB usage - but everyone's phone records their daily screen time. Our calculator turns those minutes into gigabytes.

You can start small and top up

Running out does not mean reinstalling anything: you can add data to the same line from your account. When you are torn between two sizes, the smaller one plus a top-up is usually cheaper than over-buying upfront.

What does "unlimited" mean?

Unlimited plans never run out of data, but speed may drop after a certain volume (fair usage). Worth it if you stream for hours or work off a hotspot; unnecessary for maps and messaging.

Network and speed

Each product page lists the local carriers you will connect to and whether 4G/5G is supported. Spending time outside the cities? Pick the plan listing the carrier with the widest coverage. Staying downtown? You will not notice a difference.

Does a regional plan work in every country I visit?

The covered countries are listed one by one on the product page. In a country that is not on that list the plan will not connect, and you will need a separate plan for it.

How early should I buy?

As early as you like. Validity starts on the first connection at your destination, not at purchase. We recommend installing it at home.

I bought the wrong plan - can I change it?

If the QR code has not been generated or has never been installed, it can be refunded and replaced. Once installed, a refund is not possible - talk to our support team in that case.
